mandala creative spirit of community
Mandala Mosaic Workshop - Mindfulness in Action
Here is something you probably haven't done before. Your group gathers around a blank circle on the floor. Together — using stones, shells, sand, wood, and natural materials — you design and build an intricate, stunning mandala mosaic up to 10 feet across. It takes about two hours. The process is meditative, collaborative, and surprisingly absorbing. People who don't think of themselves as creative find themselves completely immersed.

And then, when it's finished — when the mandala is at its most beautiful — you take it apart. Together. That moment of deliberate, collective letting-go is not a loss. It is the point. The mandala tradition comes from Tibetan Buddhism, where monks would spend months creating intricate sand mandalas only to destroy them — teaching that what matters is the making, the being present, the connection — not the object left behind.

The mandala works in an extraordinary range of settings — from corporate team days to community festivals, from additional needs groups to school events. It is fully inclusive — there is no skill required, no artistic experience needed, and every participant contributes equally regardless of ability. All natural materials are provided by Creative Together.

Why murals

At Creative Together we also use murals in our work in Ireland. Good murals have both an artistic and aesthetic value and they are a special way to show visually what your community is about and can become a special mark of your place.
When you pass through Irish towns and villages, you can see a lot of murals, adding some character to the places, including public space, schools, playschools, after-schools, community, youth centres or even an old handball court.
Ireland has a lot of spaces for creative expression.
Murals for your community

At Creative Together we will work with you to create a mural that represents your community and what it stands for.
We will work with you to see what kind of space do you want to create for your community and then kelp you to bring it to life. We will make sure the members of your community can participate in the process. We can paint the mural for you, but it's much more fun to get everyone involved if only a little. Our designs are artistic, but we like the idea of the mural to be educational or interactive or both.

community art
Art is one of the most powerful tools a community has for making the invisible visible — and few things need making visible more urgently right now than climate action. We work with community groups, schools, tidy towns committees, and local organisations to develop creative responses to environmental themes through painting and mosaic making.
